How to book an airport transfer for someone else

Updated · by the RTransfer team, local Edinburgh drivers

Part of our How to book your Edinburgh Airport transfer guide

Quick answer

You can book and pay for an airport transfer for a parent, a student, a wedding guest or a business client. Give the traveller’s name and mobile number as well as your own, and their flight number. The driver meets them in arrivals with a name board, and both of you can get WhatsApp updates so you know they have been collected.

Keeping both of you updated

Tell us who should receive updates. We can message the traveller when the driver is waiting, and keep you informed too, so you know they have been met and are on the way. This is especially reassuring for parents of students arriving in Scotland for the first time.

Name board greeting

For guests and clients, a name board in the arrivals hall makes a good first impression and means they do not have to look for anyone. Your driver helps with their bags all the way to the car. Read how meet and greet works at Edinburgh Airport.

Paying for someone else

You can book and pay yourself, so the traveller does not have to handle any payment on arrival. For regular bookings for staff or clients, ask about a business account.

Return journeys

If you know when they fly home, book the return at the same time and save 10%.
